Osmar Mares
Osmar Mares Martinez is a professional football player from Mexico who plays as a defender. Mares began playing for Santos Laguna in the youth division and soon, in 2006, stood out amongst the other players to become one of the top prospects for the senior side. In 2006, he broke into the first team squad but was still in doubt of a regular playing spot.
In 2007, Mares received another incredible confidence boost when he was picked for the Mexican Under-20 national team. With the national team, Mares travelled to Canada to be a part of the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup where he got his first goal at the international level, against New Zealand.
Mares returned to Santos Laguna and has, ever since, been looking to create a regular place for himself in the first team.
