David Marcelo Pizarro Cortes is a Chilean footballer who currently features for the Italian side AS Roma. Pizarro is a midfielder who can play upfront as a striker too.
Pizarro started his professional career at Chilean giants Santiago Wanderers in 1997 but after just two seasons was signed by the Italian Serie A side Udinese. He stayed at Udinese until the summer of 2005 and impressed everyone and was signed by Inter Milan.
Inter Milan signed him for 12 million euros and 50% of the rights of Goran Pandev on a four-year contract but after failing to break into the Nerazzurri first team, he was sold to AS Roma in August 2006 for 6.5 million euros in a co-ownership deal.
David Pizarro, though, developed and progressed under coach Luciano Spaletti at Roma and is now pretty much a regular for the Roman club.
David Pizarro played in 36 matches for Chile.
