Thiago Motta is an Italy international footballer who currently plays for French giants Paris Saint-Germain. Motta is a defensive midfielder and is a product of the FC Barcelona youth academy.
Motta was born in Brazil but he was inducted into the Barcelona youth team very early on. Motta began his professional career with FC Barcelona B in 1999 and made his senior debut in 2001.

In the summer of 2007, Thiago Motta was sold to Atletico Madrid for 2 million euros after he was deemed a surplus at Barcelona. But he was troubled by a recurrence of the knee injuries and Motta have had to watch the 2007-2008 season mostly from the sidelines.
In 2008 Motta joined Genoa and he was hugely impressive for the Italian club in the 2008-09 campaign. Thereafter he moved to Inter and won Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League in his debut season at San Siro.
Motta continued to be an important part for Inter Milan, but moved to Paris Saint-Germain in January 2012 for €10 million.
Motta made his international debut for Italy in 2009 and played for the Azzurri at the Euro 2012 finals.
