Gojko Kacar is a young Serbian international football player who currently plays for the team of Hamburger SV other than the Serbia national football team. He even represented his country at the World Cup in 2010. He is a versatile football player who can play either as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder.
Gojko developed football skills at the youth academy of FK Vojvodina and after breaking into the first team featured in 78 league matches for this team, scoring 16 goals.
Kacar was signed by Hertha BSC in 2008 for 3 million euros and became the most expensive transfer in the history of Vojvodina. He got selected to play for the Serbia U21 tam at the UEFA European U21 football championship in 2007 in the Netherlands. However, he played one game only against England, losing 0-2.
By September 2008, he scored five goals for the Serbian U21 team. This match was a 8-0 demolition of Hungary U21 in a qualifying match for the UEFA European U21 football championship. In June 2009, in a tournament, Kacar was the scorer of the only goal that Serbia team scored in three of their matches.
On 21 August 2010, Gojko made his debut for HSV team, as a substitute for Eljero Elia in the 79th minute, of the 2-1 home victory against Schalke.
