Hugo Miguel Pereira de Almeida is a Portuguese international football player who currently features for the German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. He plays as a striker.
Hugo Almeida commenced his professional club football career at Portuguese giants FC Porto and played for them until 2006. He was offloaded on loan on some occasions during that time and was on-loaned to Werder Bremen for the 2006-2007 season, at the end of which the German club signed him on a permanent contract.
Hugo Almeida made his international debut for Portugal against England on February 18,2004 and has featured in 20 international matches for his nation so far, scoring four goals.
