Anderson Hernanes de Carvalho Andrade Lima

Anderson Hernanes de Carvalho Andrade Lima, commonly known simply as Hernanes, is a Brazilian football player who currently features for the Brazilian giants Sao Paulo. He plays as a defensive midfielder and is said to be on his way to Italian giants AC Milan in the summer of 2009.

Hernanes developed at the Sao Paulo youth academy and has been playing for them since 2001. He played for Santo Andre in the 2006-2007 season and was adjudged the best player in the Premio Craque do Brasileirao in 2008. He won the Brazilian league in 2007 and 2008.

In January 2009 Hernanes was listed one of the most promising footballers in the world by The Times.
