Vito Mannone is a young Italian football player who currently features for the English and European giants Arsenal. He plays as a goalkeeper.
Mannone started his development at the youth academy of the Italian side Atalanta and joined the Arsenal set-up in the summer of 2005 after the Gunners paid Atalanta a compensation fee of 350,000 pounds since the player hadn’t signed a professional contract with the club.
Mannone was sent out on loan for experience to Barnsley in August 2006 for three months and after suffering a knee injury he was recalled to the Gunners in October.
