Óscar David Suazo Velázquez is a retired Honduran footballer who famously featured for the Italian giants Inter Milan. He played as a striker and is the cousin of Maynor Suazo and Hendry Thomas.
David Suazo commenced his career at Olimpia Reservas and moved onto Liga Bancaria. He played in 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship held at Nigeria and was signed by Olimpia. He was then taken on board by the Italian side Cagliari at the start of the 1999-2000 season and featured 13 times for the Italian club. But Cagliari were relegated to the Serie B that season and for the next four season,s Suazo played for Cagliari in the second tier of Italian football, playing 113 matches and scoring 40 goals.
Cagliari’s promotion to the Serie A for the 2004-2005 season saw attention heaped on David Suazo and at the start of the 2007-2008 season the Honduran international striker signed for Inter Milan although he did have a chance to sign for Inter’s bitter cross-city rivals AC Milan.
He had loan spells from Inter to Benfica and Genoa, before permanently leaving the Nerazzurri to join Catania for a brief spell in 2011.
Suazo played 57 times for his country Honduras and scored 17 goals in the process.
