Dusan Basta is a Serbian international football player who currently features for the Italian Serie A club US Lecce. He is a versatile footballer who can play either as a right back or as a right sided midfielder.
Dusan Basta commenced his footballing career at a local club PKB and joined Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade when he was 13 years of age. He signed his first professional contract four years later when he was 17 years of age and made his first team debut for Red Star on his 18th birthday (in August 2002).
Dusan Basta played for Red Star Belgrade until 2008, scoring 3 goals in 96 goals. In June 2008 Basta was signed by US Lecce.
Dusan Basta made his international debut for Serbia against Spain on March 31,2005. He was part of the Serbian squad for the 2006 Germany World Cup finals but did not play in any match.
