An Argentine football player, Carlos Casartelli is a midfielder who currently plays professional football in Argentina’s Primera Division. Carlos started his professional career at Textil Mandiyu, a lower division club in Argentina. A year later, he made a move to the big time when he was transferred to Independiente. Although he didn’t play regular first-team football, he was part of the main squad.
In 1996, Carlos moved to Gimnasia de Jujuy where he stayed for two seasons, scoring 11 goals in 54 first team appearances. His performance caught the eye of UD Salamanca, a Spanish club. He moved to Spain for two years where he played 29 games for Salamanca scoring once. From the lower division, he moved to RCD Espanyol, in the Spainsh first division. Carlos struggled to get into the first team and returned to Argentina in 2000.
On his return, he joined Estudiantes where he again failed to break into the first team. Estudiantes became the first of 11 moves that he would make between 2000 and 2008. After not getting a single game at Estudiantes, Carlos moved to Atlante in the Mexican first division. He had a wonderful season, playing 30 goals and finding the net 8 times.

He moved to Veracruz in 2001, to play in the Primera A Division of Mexico. Although he had just 24 appearances in 3 seasons, he scored 9 goals, an aspect of his came that attracted Correcaminos UAT to his style of play. A season with his new hosts led to a move to Queretaro, still in the Primera A Division. Again, Carlos displayed his excellent scoring ability from the midfield, with 8 goals in 19 appearances.
This prolific rate saw him called to the Monterrey side for another season in the top-flight in Mexico. He played 35 games for Monterrery in 2005, scoring 12 goals before moving once again to Dorados de Sinaloa, dropping to the Primera A Division once again. He stayed in the lower division the following year as he moved to Tecos UAG for 2 seasons before returning to Dorados de Sinaloa in 2007. After another season at Sinaloa, he moved to Indios de Ciudad Juarez before returning to Argentina in 2008.
On his return, he joined Club Atletico Huracan. Fernando Casartelli, Carlos’ brother, is also a professional footballer.
