Giacinto Facchetti was a professional football player from Italy. He played his entire career for Inter Milan. While with the team, he helped them win four Serie A titles. In 1965, he was a runner-up for the Ballon d’Or award.

Giacinto Facchetti was born on July 18, 1942 in Treviglio, Bergamo, Italy. He was married to Giovanna Facchetti. They have four kids together. He died on September 4, 2006, in Milan, Italy. He suffered from pancreatic cancer.Youth and Senior Career
He started his youth career playing for GSD Mario Zancotti. Then from 1957 to 1960, he played for Trevigliese. In 1960, he was signed by Inter Milan and he continued to play for the club until he retired in 1978.During his tenure with Milan, he helped them win the Serie A cup in 1962–63, 1964–65, 1965–66, and 1970–71. They also won the 1977-78 Coppa Italia cup.
Facchetti also played for the Italy National Football Team and in 1970, they finished second in the FIFA World Cup.
In 1965, he came in second in the voting for the Ballon d’Or award. He has been inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame and the Inter Milan Hall of Fame. In 2004, he was also named to Pele’s list for the 100th anniversary of FIFA.
