Flamini commenced his professional club football career with French giants Marseille in 2003 and played for them for one season, featuring in 14 Ligue 1 matches. He helped his side reach the UEFA Cup in 2004.
Flamini then moved to Arsenal and played for the Gunners until 2008. He developed as a big-time player at the London club and won the FA Cup in 2004-05. He reached the final of the Champions League in 2006, the League Cup in 2005 and finished second in the Premier League with the Gunners in 2004-05.
He scored seven goals in 102 Premier League matches for the Gunners and in the summer of 2008 joined AC Milan on a free transfer. However, Flamini failed to consolidate a place in the Rossoneri lineup, although he did win Serie A in 2010-11 and the Italian Super Cup that same year.
