Philippe Sylvain Senderos is a Swiss international footballer of Spanish and Serbian descent who currently features for the Premiership giants Arsenal. He is a central defender and is a first choice for both club and country.
Philippe Senderos developed at the Swiss club Servette and made his senior debut in 2001. However he featured for just two seasons for the Swiss club when Arsenal signed him in the summer of 2003 for 2.5 million pounds.
Senderos was injured for most of his debut 2003-2004 season and it was only in the 2005-2006 season that he became a regular in the absence of the then injury ridden Sol Campbell.
