A Colombian footballer, Fabian Andres Vargas Rivera is currently playing for Boca Juniors. He is on loan from another Argentine giant, Internacional. During his time with America de Cali, Vargas has appeared with the team for their Copa Mustang title wins in 2000, 2001 and 2002. He has also been a part of the winning team of the 1999 Copa Merconorte. Apart from these, Vargas has appeared in several international matches such as the 2006 FIFA World Cup and the 2007 Recopa Sudamericana.
With Boca Juniors, Vargas has appeared in the victories of the 2003 Intercontinental Cup, the Copa Sudamericana in 2004 and 2005 as well as the Recopa Sudamericana title wins in 2005 and 2008. Vargas has also played for the Colombian national team for the Copa America in 2001.
