A Guatemalan footballer, Jose Manuel Contreras, also known as El Moyo, currently plays for First Division team Arsenal de Sarandi, as midfielder. Apart from which Jose is also a member of the National team of Guatemala. He started out with the top division itself, when he joined Comunicaciones, and for a brief spell played with Deportivo Achuapa, in the Primera Division, as well, before returning to Comunicaciones. He stayed with this club till mid of 2008, until he made the switch to Arsenal de Sarandi.

His first international goal was in the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, where his team was playing against El Salvador. In the next season Contreras was selected for the U - 23 National team of Guatemala. He took the team to victory in the qualification rounds of the 2008 Olympic tournament. The team reached the semi finals in the first place in the group stage and had to end their journey then after losing to Honduras, 6-5 in penalty kicks. But Contraras was widely appreciated and he was even listed as one of the eleven best in the entire tournament.
