A centre forward from the capital of Argentina, Daniel Alejandro Vega has been quite a prolific scorer for teams that he has played for. In 2002, he began his professional career with Platense, where in two seasons, he scored four goals despite sparingly little appearances. In 2003, he moved to Estudiantes (BA) where he scored 13 goals in his first season. A fine header of the ball, and a two-footed player, Vega was making waves in the Primera Division as his goal tally kept increasing. Although he was mostly part of teams in the Primera B Nacional division, he became lethal in front of goal, albeit at a lower level.

In 2004, he was part of the Los Andes squad where he again played just a single season, and scored 18 goals before moving back to Platense, his first club. In three prolific seasons with the team, Vega scored 53 goals in all competitions. His incredible record got him to Emelec to play for the first time in the Primera Division.

In 19 games with Emelec, the difference in the level of football showed as Vega only managed 2 goals. However, since then, Daniel Vega has come to Atletico San Martin and in his first six games, already found the net twice.
