Emilio Commisso was an Argentine professional football player, who created a name for himself by playing for some big clubs in Argentina and Spain. His career began at the biggest of them all, River Plate, where he played for 7 years. During his years at the club, Emilio won 5 league titles, playing 218 games to find the net 27 times.
In 1984, he joined Argentinos Juniors at a time when the club’s golden period was just beginning. For four years, he stayed at the club and in the process, won two league titles, a Copa Libertadores title and the Copa Interamericana. His move from Argentinos to Talleres came in 1988, where he just spent one season before moving to Xerez, in Spain. His sole season in the country ended poorly and soon, Emilio was back in Argentina, playing for Estudiantes de La Plata. Finally, in 1992, Emilio ended his playing career at Quilmes Atletico Club.
Since finishing his playing career, Commisso has been a part of the administrative side of football at Racing Club, holding several offices including the Club Secretary, Co-ordinator of Football, and even the interim manager of the side in 2003. In 2005, he became manager of Talleres after being invited by the club, however, just 2 wins in 8 games meant that his days of coaching the club were over.
