\Martin Petyov Petrov is a Bulgarian international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Manchester City. He is an attacking midfielder and is lauded for his creativity and vision.

Martin Petrov started his career at Bulgarian side Botev Vratsa in 1991 and moved to Bulgaria’s biggest club CSKA Sofia in 199. He didn’t manage to make much headway at CSKA and after playing three seasons for Servette FC between 1998 and 2001, moved to VFL Wolfsburg.

Petrov became a huge hit at Wolfsburg and played for them for the German side for four years. He scored 28 goals in 116 league matches and was one of the best players on German soil during the time.

Atletico Madrid signed Petrov in 2005 and then in the summer of 2007 the Bulgarian star was signed by Premiership side Manchester City for 7 million euros on a three-year contract. Petrov was one of the best players for Man City in the 2007-2008 season as he scored 5 goals in 34 league matches and impressed everyone with his creativity and skills.

Martin Petrov made his international debut for Bulgaria in June 1999 against England in a Euro 2000 qualifier and has played 68 matches so far, scoring 16 goals. He played for his nation at Euro 2004.
