Simone Barone is an Italian football player who currently features for the Italian Serie A club Torino. He plays as a central midfielder.
Simone Barone started his professional club football career at Italian side Parma after developing at the club’s prestigious youth academy. He was part of the first team between 1997 and 2004 and scored 4 goals in 64 league matches. His first team debut for Parma was against Atalanta came on May 4,1997. He also served loan stints at Padova, Alzano Virescit and Chievo Verona during his time at the club.
In 2004 Barone was signed by Palermo for 5 million euros and he was hugely in his two years at the club, featuring prominently in 71 league matches and scored 5 goals.
Torino signed Simone Barone in 2006 for 2.7 million euros and he became a regular starter immediately. He is now one of the most important players for Torino as they look to establish themselves in the Italian Serie A.
