Walter Alejandro Gargano Guevara, commonly known as Walter Gargano, is a Uruguay international football player who currently features for the Italian Serie A club Inter Milan. He plays as a midfielder and is considered as one of the best Uruguayan players at the moment.

Gargano is a product of the youth academy of Uruguayan giants Danubio and made his first team debut in 2004. He played for them between 2004 and 2007 and scored thrice in 83 league matches.

Gargano's impressive form earned him a move to Italian club Napoli in June 2007 for £2 million. He soon became a first-team regular for the Naples outfit, earning praise for his skills as a central midfielder. He was instrumental in Napoli becoming a major force in Italian football and challenging for a top-three position in the league table.

Gargano left Napoli for Inter Milan on loan at the start of the 2012-13 season, having scored four goals in 163 league matches for the former Italian champions.

Gargano made his international debut for Uruguay in 2006 and has played close to 50 matches for his country so far. He won the Copa America with his country in 2011.
