Andrew Matthew “Andy” Reid is a Republic of Ireland international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Sunderland. He plays as a midfielder.
Andy Reid started his professional club football career with former European champions Nottingham Forest and played for them between 2000 and 2005. He established himself in the midfield for Nottingham and scored 21 goals in 144 league matches. He earned huge acclaim from Premier League clubs and was billed as a huge player for the Irish national team.
In January 2005 he was signed by north London club Tottenham Hotspur and made his debut for Spurs against Portsmouth but in the summer of 2006 after a decent season for Spurs was signed by Charlton Athletic for 3 million pounds. He scored 8 goals in 38 matches for Charlton and joined Sunderland in January 2008 in a three-and-a-half year deal worth 4 million pounds and has been playing well for the Black Cats since then.

Andy Reid made his international debut for Republic of Ireland in 2003 and has scored 4 goals in 27 international matches for his nation so far. His first match for his nation was against Canada and his first goal was against Bulgaria in November 2003 when he scored from a free-kick from 35 yards.
