Craig Sinclair Gordon is a Scottish international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Sunderland. He plays as a goalkeeper.
Craig Gordon commenced his professional footballing career at Scottish club Heart of Midlothian in 2002. He was a regular for the first team, having developed through the club’s youth system. He featured in 176 league matches for hearts between 2002 and 2007 after making his debut on October 6,2002 in a 1-1 draw with Livingston. He was also short-listed for the Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year award for the 2003-2004 season.
In 2007 Craig Gordon decided to move south down the border to English Premier League club Sunderland on a five-year contract for an initial transfer fee of 7 million pounds. He was drafted into the Hearts Hall of Fame in November 2007 when he was only 24 years of age.
Craig Gordon made his international debut for Scotland against Trinidad and Tobago at Easter Road Stadium on May 30,2004 and has gone onto established himself as a regular Scottish number one in goal, featuring in more than 30 international matches for his nation.
