Roy Simon O’Donovan is a Republic of Ireland football player who features for the English Premier League club Sunderland. He is a winger who can play as a striker too and is currently on loan to Cork City.
Roy O’Donovan started his club career at English side Coventry and played for them for the 2004-2005 season although he did mot make any league appearance. In 2005 he moved to his hometown club of Cork City and featured prominently for them for two seasons, scoring 31 goals in 74 league matches.
In 2007 O’Donovan was signed by Sunderland for an Eircom League record transfer fee of 500,000 euros and played 17 league matches foe them in 2007-2008.
