Ryan James Shawcross is a young English football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Stoke City. He plays as a centre-back.
Ryan Shawcross rose through the youth ranks of Manchester United and played impressively for the youth teams. He was sent on loan to Man United’s feeder club in Belgium, Royal Antwerp in 2007 and then played the 2007-2008 season for Stoke City in the Football League Championships.
Ryan Shawcross was hugely impressive at Stoke and scored 6 goals in 26 Championships matches and helped the club gain promotion to the English Premier League. In January 2008 Ryan Shawcross was signed on a permanent contract by Stoke and he has since gone onto become a first team regular for Stoke.
