Gavin McCann started his professional club football club career at Merseyside club Everton in 1995 and played 11 league matches until 1998 when he moved to Sunderland.
Gavin McCann established himself at Sunderland and scored 8 goals in 116 league matches between 1998 and 2003. McCann good displays for Sunderland earned him a deal with Aston Villa in 2003 and he went on to establish himself a very good player in the Premiership. He played for Aston Villa for four seasons and scored 3 goals in 110 Premier League matches. He was a cult figure at Villa Park and was impressive with his runs and hard tackles.
