Michael Francis “Mike” Pollitt is an English football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Wigan Athletic. He plays as a goalkeeper and is a footballing journeyman,, having played for several clubs in his career.
Mike Pollitt started his professional club career at Premiership giants Manchester United in 1990 and played for the them for one season but could manager no first team league matches.
Mike Pollitt subsequently played for Bury, Lincoln City, Darling and Notts County and was then sent on loan to Oldham Athletic, Gillingham, Brentford and Sunderland.

Then in 1998 Sunderland signed him on a permanent contract but he was soon on his way to Rotherham United and played 94 league matches between 1998 and 2000, becoming a first choice regular goalkeeper for the first time in his career.
In 2000 he joined Chesterfield only to leave the club in 2001 after featuring in 46 league matches moved back to Rotherham United. He played for four years at Rotherdam and featured in 175 league matches.
Mike Pollitt was signed by Wigan Athletic in 2006 but he has failed to secure a regular first team place for himself at the JJ Stadium. However he helped the Lactics to a place in the 2006 League Cup final.
