Joe Gauci

Joe Gauci is a soccer player playing for Aston Villa and Australia. He is a goalkeeper.

Club Career

Adelaide-born Gauci spent his youth in his native South Australia, before an opportunity to trial with A-League club Central Coast Mariners, leading to a scholarship deal in 2018.

He would also move to Melbourne City in 2019 on a scholarship deal, but never made an A-League appearance before being released.

In October 2020, Gauci returned to his hometown Adelaide to join Adelaide United. He quickly rose to be United's number one goalkeeper, becoming a regular over three impressive seasons. In 2022-23, he was named in the PFA A-League Team of the Season.

In February 2024, English Premier League club Aston Villa swooped to sign him for an undisclosed fee.

International Career

Gauci made his international debut in a 2-1 loss to Ecuador in March 2023. He was named in Australia's 2023 Asian Cup squad but didn't play.
