Arda Guler is a soccer player playing for Real Madrid. He is a Turkey international attacking midfielder/winger.
Club Career
Guler moved to Ankara-based Genclerbirligi during his junior career, before joining Fenerbahce at youth level in 2019.
At Fenerbahce, Guler made his senior debut in August 2021 and dished off an assist in his Turkish Super Lig debut a few days later. Guler was Fenerbahce’s youngest ever league goal scorer when he netted in March 2022 as a 17-year-old.
He impressed at Fenerbahce, quickly becoming a regular and was handed the famous no.10 shirt, and drawing interest from numerous top clubs, including Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and PSG.
He signed a three-year contract extension with Fenerbahce in March 2022, warding off that aforementioned interest. But after another strong season, Spanish giants Real Madrid swooped to sign him in July 2023 on a six-year deal.
After an injury-interrupted start to life in Spain, Guler made his Real debut in January 2024. He scored his first La Liga goal for Real in March against [[Real Sociedad] in a 1-0 win. The goals started flowing, finishing with six in the league as Real won the title, along with UEFA Champions League, becoming the first Turkish player to lift the European crown.
International Career
Guler played for Turkey at under-age and made his senior international debut in November 2022.
He was named in Turkey’s Euro 2024 squad and scored in their 3-1 group stage victory over Georgia. Guler became the fifth youngest goal scorer in European Championship history and the youngest in history to score on debut, breaking a record previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo.
