Victor Boniface

Victor Boniface is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Bundesliga club Werder Bremen, on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, and the Nigeria National Team.

Victor Okoh Boniface was born on December 23, 2000, in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. The Nigerian striker stands 1.90 m (6 ft 3 in) tall.

He is a Christian by faith. On the pitch, he is known for his charismatic personality, often performing entertaining and humorous celebrations after scoring goals to engage with the fans.

Career

Boniface began his journey in Europe with Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt, where he played a part in the club's back-to-back Eliteserien titles in 2020 and 2021. His performances earned him a move to Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise in 2022.

During his single season in Belgium, he made a significant impact on the continental stage, finishing as the top scorer in the UEFA Europa League for the 2022–23 campaign.

In 2023, Boniface transferred to Bayer Leverkusen in Germany. He enjoyed an incredible debut season, helping the club secure a historic domestic double by winning the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal. His individual excellence was highlighted when he was named the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season and selected for the Bundesliga Team of the Season. Following his success at Leverkusen, he joined fellow German club Werder Bremen on loan in 2025.

Internationally, Boniface made his senior debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in 2023, becoming a regular option in their attacking lineup.
