Riley McGree is an Australian soccer player currently playing for Middlesbrough. He is a midfielder/attacker.
After emerging at hometown club Adelaide United, he earned a move to Belgian giants Club Brugge as a teenager. He was loaned back to Newcastle Jets, during that spell he scored an incredible scorpion kick goal which went viral.
The following season he was loaned out again, back to A-League club Melbourne City. The next season he re-joined Adelaide permanently, ending his time with Club Brugge. He impressed that season at Adelaide, winning the club champion award and earned a move to new MLS club Charlotte FC, who loaned him out to English Championship club Birmingham City.
He was a good performer at Birmingham but was set to go back to Charlotte in January 2022, before rumours swirled of a permanent stay at Brum or a move to Celtic. In the end, Middlesbrough signed him on a three-and-a-half year deal.
He has been capped by Australia.
