Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was born on February 12, 2001, in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Georgian winger stands 183 cm (6 ft 0 in) tall. He is the son of Badri Kvaratskhelia, a former footballer who played for Dinamo Tbilisi and the Azerbaijan National Team.Khvicha has two brothers, including a younger brother, Tornike, who is also a footballer.
In October 2023, Kvaratskhelia married Nitsa Tavadze, a medical university student, at the Samtavro monastery in Mtskheta. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Damiane, in August 2024. In 2024, he was awarded the Georgian Order of Honour for his contributions to the sport.
Career
Kvaratskhelia began his senior career with Dinamo Tbilisi at age 16 before brief stints at Rustavi and Lokomotiv Moscow, winning the Russian Cup with the latter.He then spent three years in Russia with Rubin Kazan, where he won two consecutive Russian Premier League Best Young Player awards. After a short spell at Dinamo Batumi, he signed for Napoli in 2022.
His impact in Italy was immediate and historic. In his debut season, he helped Napoli reach the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time and win their first Serie A title in 33 years. He finished as the league's top assist provider and was named Serie A Most Valuable Player and the Champions League's Young Player of the Season.
He continued to excel, winning several Player of the Month awards and earning a spot in the Serie A Team of the Season.
In January 2025, Kvaratskhelia made a high-profile €70 million move to Paris Saint-Germain.
