Roman Bednar is a Czech international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion. He plays as a striker and his tall stature enables him to have aerial superiority.
Roman Bednar started his professional club football career at Czech side Bohemians Prague in 1999 and played for them for three seasons. In 2002 he was signed by Mlada Boleslav and he scored 23 goals in 70 league matches in three seasons.
After spending the 2005-2006 season on loan at Scottish Premier League club Heart of Midlothian, Roman Bednar was signed by the club on a permanent deal in 2006.

However after 4 goals in 18 league matches in the 2006-2007 season, Roman Bednar was signed by West Bromwich Albion on loan for the 2007-2008 season. He was then signed on a permanent deal by West Brom in the summer of 2008 and is now said to be a key play for the club as they feature in the English Premier League in the 2008-2009 season.
Roman Bednar made his international debut for Czech Republic in 2006 against Serbia.
