Roméo Lavia

Roméo Lavia is a soccer player playing for Chelsea and Belgium. He is a defensive midfielder.

Club Career

Brussels-born Lavia, who is of Ghanaian descent, spent time at Anderlecht's academy in his youth, before switching to Manchester City in 2020 as a 16-year-old. He made his professional debut for City as a 17-year-old in the League Cup.

In July 2022, Lavia was signed by Southampton on a five-year deal for a reported 10.5 million pounds with 3.5m pounds in add-ons. He had an impressive season with the Saints, playing regularly but the side struggled and was ultimately relegation.

In August 2023, he left Southampton, following their relegation from the Premier League, for Chelsea on a seven-year contract worth a reported 53m pounds.

International Career

Lavia represented Belgium at numerous under-age levels and debuted at senior international level in March 2023 against Germany.
