Omari Hutchinson is a British-born Jamaican professional footballer currently signed under Chelsea. He signed a contract with Arsenal as a professional footballer in November 2020 before moving across London to join Chelsea in July 2022.
Hutchinson started playing football at a very young age. At only 11 years old, he joined the academy age group of the Arsenal club. He trained and competed with the club during his amateur football days before finally turning professional in the later part of 2020.
The 17-year-old Hutchinson stands 1.74 meters or 5 feet and 7 inches. At present, he plays the attacking midfield position, but also played central and right midfield positions in the past. He was part of the Arsenal Youth before being transferred to his current club, Arsenal Under 18 in July 2020. He is also part of the Arsenal FC Under 23 and was a member of his country’s national under 17 team.
In terms of performance, experts have shared that the young Hutchinson comes with excellent speed, passing and technical ability. The coaching staff of Arsenal also were impressed with his bags of pace and very quick feet along with how he listens and participates in coaching sessions. Veteran players of the club also believe that Hutchinson has full of potential and can even be compared to footballers like Raheem Sterling due to his eye for a goal and excellent dribbling skills.
As a young footballer, Hutchinson had been involved in three main competitions. These include the Under 18 Premier League, FA Youth Cup, and the Premier League 2. In terms of statistics, he has a total of 24 appearances, 9 goals, and 9 assists as well as 1 yellow card. Of the 24 appearances, 20 are from the Under 18 Premier League, 3 from the FA Youth Cup, and 1 from the Premier League 2. The 9 goals on the other hand were mainly achieved while playing at the Under 18 Premier League, though 2 were made under the FA Youth Cup. In addition, he was also part of the Under 17- International Friendlies, wherein he played for England.
