Robert Huth is a German international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Middlesbrough. He plays as a central defender and is a very promising one. He is nicknamed “The Unstoppable Force”,”The Friendly One” and “The Berlin Wall”.

Robert Huth actually developed at the youth system of the Berlin club Union Berlin and was signed by Chelsea in 2001. He made his debut for the London Blues when he was just 17 years of age in the last game of the 2001-2002 season as he came on as a substitute against Aston Villa at half-time.

Huth played for Chelsea until 2006 but he was never quite popular at Chelsea. He was mostly a fringe player at Stamford Bridge and only made occasional appearances in the starting line-up. There were many who thought that he was not good enough and would never be able to make the cut in the Premiership.

Robert Huth was signed by Middlesbrough in the summer of 2006 for 6 million pounds on a 5-year contract. He could make only 42 English Premier League appearances for Middlsbrough.

Huth struggled in his first season at the Riverside Stadium but was huge from then on. He is currently a regular first choice central defender for Boro.

Robert Huth made his international debut for Germany in 2004 and has played 17 matches for his nation so far, scoring 2 goals. He played at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship and also played at the 2005 Confederations Cup.
