Omar Marmoush is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester City and the Egypt National Team.

Omar Khaled Mohamed Abdelsalam Marmoush was born on February 7, 1999, in Cairo, Egypt.

The Egyptian forward stands 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in) tall. He holds dual citizenship; in addition to his Egyptian nationality, he possesses Canadian citizenship because his parents resided in Canada for six years before returning to Cairo.

He was raised in the Maadi neighborhood and is a devout Muslim, often observed performing the sujud prostration after scoring goals.

Career

Marmoush began his footballing path at the Wadi Degla Academy in Cairo, breaking into the senior team in 2016. His potential quickly attracted attention abroad, leading to a move to Germany with VfL Wolfsburg.

He initially played for the reserve side before earning promotion to the first team. To further his development, he spent loan spells at FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart, where he gained valuable Bundesliga experience and was named Rookie of the Month on two occasions.

In 2023, Marmoush signed with Eintracht Frankfurt. His tenure there was prolific, as he netted 27 goals in 46 appearances, showcasing his ability to lead the attack. His excellent form in Germany, highlighted by winning Bundesliga Player of the Month twice in late 2024, earned him a high-profile transfer to the Premier League with Manchester City in 2025. In his debut season in England, he made an immediate impact by winning the Premier League Goal of the Season award.

Internationally, Marmoush represented Egypt at the U20 and U23 levels before making his senior debut in 2021. He was a key member of the squad that finished as runners-up at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
