Alexis Mac Allister is an Argentine professional footballer. As of the 2025 season, he plays as a midfielder for the Premier League club Liverpool and the Argentina National Team.

Alexis Mac Allister was born on December 24, 1998, in Santa Rosa, La Pampa, Argentina. The Argentine midfielder stands 176 cm tall.

He comes from a footballing family; his father, Carlos Mac Allister, and uncle, Patricio Mac Allister, are retired footballers, while his older brothers, Francis Mac Allister and Kevin Mac Allister, are also professionals. Mac Allister is of predominantly Irish descent with some Italian ancestry.

In September 2025, he welcomed his daughter, Alaia, with his girlfriend Ailen Cova.

Career

Mac Allister started his senior career with Argentinos Juniors in 2016, winning the Argentine Second Division in his debut season. He joined Brighton & Hove Albion in 2019 but was loaned back to Argentinos Juniors and later to Boca Juniors, where he won the 2019–2020 Primera Division.

After returning to Brighton, he had his breakthrough year and became a key player for the team. In June 2023, he moved to Liverpool FC.

With Liverpool, he has enjoyed significant success, winning the 2023–2024 EFL Cup and the 2024–2025 Premier League titles.

At the international level, Mac Allister represented Argentina at the under-23 level, winning the 2020 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament.

He made his senior international debut in 2019 and has been a vital part of the squad during a golden era for the National Team, winning the 2022 Finalissima, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and the 2024 Copa América.
