Xavi Simons

Xavi Simons is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the Netherlands National Team.

Player Profile and Personal Life

Xavi Quentin Shay Simons was born on April 21, 2003, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Dutch midfielder stands 179 cm (5 ft 10 in) tall. He gained fame early in his youth career, securing a sponsorship deal with Nike at age 13 and amassing over two million Instagram followers by the time he was 16.

In 2020, he was recognized on prominent lists of the world's best wonderkids by both Goal and The Guardian.

Career

Originally a product of Barcelona's La Masia Academy, Simons signed for Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, making his professional debut in 2021 and winning both Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.

In 2022, he returned to the Netherlands with PSV, where he enjoyed a breakout season, winning the KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield while finishing as the Eredivisie's joint-top scorer.

PSG re-signed him in 2023 but immediately loaned him to RB Leipzig in Germany. After two impressive seasons on loan, he signed permanently for the German club in early 2025 but sought a transfer shortly after due to the club's failure to qualify for the Champions League.

This led to his move to Tottenham Hotspur in August 2025. Internationally, he received his first senior call-up for the Netherlands in 2022, making his debut at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He was also part of the Dutch squad for UEFA Euro 2024.
