David Bentley

David Michael Bentley is an England international football player who currently features for the English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. He is a versatile and creative midfielder, who can play anywhere across the middle, although he is at his best while he is playing on the right.

Bentley actually graduated from the youth academy of Arsenal but surprisingly in spite of his undoubted talent he failed to made the cut to the first team. After spending the 2005-2006 season on loan at Premier Leaguealso-rans Blackburn Rovers, he was signed on a permanent deal. Bentley then went on to become one of the best young players in the English top flight as he played regular for Blackburn in the Premiership.

After making 88 league appearances and scoring 13 times, Bentley was signed by Arsenal’s bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2008 for an initial £15 million. However, he failed to impress at White Hart Lane and has managed only 42 league appearances for Spurs, scoring three goals in the process.

Bentley has been out on loan since 2011 and has turned out for Birmingham City, West Ham United, Rostov and Blackburn Rovers.

Bentley made his international debut for England in 2007. He has since made six more appearances for his country.
