Hermann Hreidarsson is an Icelandic international football player who currently features for the English Premier League side Portsmouth. He is a defender.
Hermann Hreidarsson started his career at Icelandic side IBV in 1993 and in 1997 came to England to play for Crystal Palace. In 1998 he moved to Brentford and then to Wimbledon in 1999 and was signed by Ipswich Town in the summer of 2000 for 4.5 million pounds.
It was at Ipswich Town that he exhibited his class and after 102 league appearances was signed by Charlton Athletic in 2003. He soent four seasons at the Valley and in the summer of 2007 left the club, having featured in 132 league matches.
Portsmouth signed Hreidarsson in the summer of 2007 and he was a regular for Pompey in the 2007-2008 season.
Hermann Hreidarsson made hs debut for Iceland in 1996 and has gone to play 73 times for his nation, scoring 5 goals.
