Alessandro Bastoni was born on April 13, 1999, in Casalmaggiore, Italy. The imposing defender stands 1.90 m (6 ft 3 in) tall. Football runs in his family; his father, Nicola Bastoni, also competed professionally, featuring as a left-back for Cremonese.

In January 2022, he welcomed his first child, a daughter named Azzurra. Following Italy's European triumph, he was honored as a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Cavaliere OMRI) in 2021.

Career

Bastoni developed his skills within the Atalanta Youth System, eventually making his senior debut for the club. After signing with Inter Milan in 2017, he spent valuable loan spells back at Atalanta and then with Parma, where he gained significant Serie A experience.

Upon returning to Inter Milan, he quickly solidified his place in the starting lineup. His early years with the Nerazzurri saw the team reach the UEFA Europa League final in the 2019–20 season.
