Ibrahima Konaté is a soccer player playing for Liverpool. He is a France international defender.
Club Career
Paris-born Konate started his youth career at Paris FC before moving to Sochaux in 2014 where he graduated to their first team in 2017 at the age of 16.
In 2017, he was signed by emerging German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig on a five-year deal. He played almost 100 times for Leipzig, reaching two DFB-Pokal finals.
In May 2021, Liverpool moved to sign Konate for 36 million pounds. He often partnered Virgil van Dijk at the back, but never has locked in a regular starting berth, with injuries not helping. He’s won the FA Cup at Liverpool, along with two EFL Cups.
In 2021-22, he was started in the UEFA Champions League final which Liverpool lost 1-0 to Real Madrid.
International Career
Konate represented France at numerous under-age levels before making his senior debut in 2022. He was part of France’s 2022 World Cup squad.
