Yakubu Aiyegbeni is a Nigerian international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Everton. He is a striker and is know as the Yak. He is the highest scoring African in Premier League history.

Yakubu made his professional debut in football with Israeli giants Maccabi Haifa in 1999 and played for them for four years, scoring 24 goals in 50 league appearances.

He was loaned to Portsmouth for the second half of the 2002-2003 season and was signed by Pompey on a permanent basis in the summer of 2003. He featured prominently for Portsmouth for two seasons, scoring 29 goals in 68 league matches.

In the summer of 2005 Middlesbrough signed the Yak and Yakubu continued his prolific form for ‘Boro. He scored 26 goals in 73 Premier League matches in two seasons for Middlesbrough.

Everton signed the player in the summer of 2007. He scored a phenomenal 21 goals in just 29 league matches for the Blues.

Yakubu made his international debut for Nigeria in 2000 and has scored 17 goals in 41 appearances so far.
