Philipp Degen is a Swiss international football player who currently features for the English Premier Legaue giants Liverpool. He is a versatile footballer who can play as a left back or as a right back.
Philipp Degen made his professional career with FC Basel in 2001 and played for them for four season, scoring 4 goals in 55 league appearances. He was signed by German side Borussia Dortmund in 2005 and played for them for three seasons and made 68 appearances in the German Bundesliga.
Liverpool signed Degen on a free transfer on a four year contract in the summer of 2008.
Philipp Degen made his international debut for Switzerland in 2005 and has played 29 matches for his nation so far. He played in the 2006 Germany World Cup and Euro 2004.
