Stephen John Finnan, commonly known as Steve Finnan, is a former Republic of Ireland international footballer who currently features for the English Premier League giants Liverpool. He plays as a right back and is first choice both for club and country. He is the only player to have played in the World Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup, all four levels of the English league football and the English conference.
Steve Finnan developed at the youth academy of Wimbledon and made his professional debut with Birmingham City in 1995 and in 1996 was signd by Notts County.
Fulham signed Finnan in the summer of 1998 for 600,000 pounds for the player. He featured in 173 league matches for Fulham and scored 6 goals from 1998 to 2003.

In the 2003 summer Steve Finnan was signed by Liverpool for 3.5 million pounds and very soon he had established himself as the regular first choice right back for the club. Finnan won the Champions League with the Reds in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006. He has played over 200 matches in all competitions for Liverpool so far.
Steve Finnan made his international debut for Republic of Irealnd in 2000 and retired in January 2008 after making 50 appearances and scoring 2 goals. He played at the 2002 World Cup.
