Ismael Bennacer is a soccer player playing for AC Milan. He is an Algerian midfielder, who is known to be dynamic and tenacious, capable of playing numerous roles.
Bennacer was born in Arles, France, where he played youth football until he was signed by Premier League club Arsenal in 2015. He made his Gunners debut in October 2015 as a 17-yeear-old, before being loaned to French Ligue 2 club Tours for six month.
He would join Italian Serie B club Empoli in August 2017 on a permanent deal, helping them earn promotion with a strong campaign. Empoli were relegated upon their return to Serie A but Bennacer elevated his status as a promising young midfielder, leading to a move to Milan for 16 million euros plus bonuses in August 2019.
Bennacer has since established himself as a key part of the Milan side that ended a long Serie A title with the crown in 2021-22.
He represented France at youth level, but made his Algeria debut in 2016 and helped his nation win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. He was named Best Player and Best Young Player at that tournament.
