Jermaine Anthony Jenas is an English football player who currently features for the English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. He is an England international and plays as a midfielder. Jenas is also the vice-captain of Spurs.
Jermaine Jenas developed at the youth academy of Nottingham Forest and made his debut for the senior side in 2001. After one impressive season in which he scored 4 goals in 33 matches in all competitions, he was signed by Newcastle United in February 2002 for 5 million pounds.
Jenas was impressive for the Geordies right from the very start and won the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 2002-2003. He made his name as a box-to-box midfielder in his time at St. James’ Park and was one of the best in three years spent there.
Jenas played 110 English Premier League matches in three years between 2002 and 2005 and scored 9 goals.
In the summer of 2005 Tottenham Hotspur came calling and signed Jenas for 7 million pounds. He started in a lukewarm fashion at White Hart Lane but soon gather speed and is now of the more important players for Spurs. He is currently the vice-captain of Spurs.
Jermaine Jenas made his international debut for Australia in February 2003 and has played 18 matches for his nation so far. His only goal so far came in an international friendly against Switzerland in February 2008 at New Wembley.
