Jefferson Andrés Lerma Solís was born in El Cerrito, Colombia, and was a product of Atletico Huila youth academy. He was included in the Colombia national team in June 2018 and competed in the FIFA World Cup. He also competed in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification, where he recorded his first goal.
Career
Lerma’s professional career started with Atletico Huila when he signed a contract in 2013. He debuted in March 2013 in a draw match against Millonarios. During his first season with Huila, he played 20 matches and scored his first professional goal in February 2014.

By August 2015, he transferred to Levante for a one-year contract. He debuted with Levante as a replacement player for Nabil Ghilas in a match against Las Palmas. He also recorded his first goal in December 2015 in a match against Espanyol.
