Darron Gibson is a Republic of Ireland international footballer who currently features for the Premier League club Everton. He plays as a midfielder.
Gibson joined Manchester United in 2004 and made his senior appearance for the Premier League and European giants in October 2005 in a League Cup against Barnet as a substitute. Gibson was on loan to Royal Antwerp for the 2006-2007 season and to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 2007-2008 season.
Gibson was then drafted into the United first team and was on their books until 2012. However, he failed to impress at Old Trafford, despite winning the Premier League in 2011 and the League Cup in 2009 and 2010.
Gibson at first represented Northern Ireland at the Under-16 level but after the Good Friday Agreement that allowed people born in Northern Ireland to claim either Republic of Ireland and/or United Kingdom nationality, he chose to play for the Irish Republic. Since making his debut in 2007, he has gone onto make over 15 more appearances for them.
