Jermaine Colin Defoe is an England international football player who currently features for the English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. He is a striker and is considered as one of the best in the English top flight.
Defoe made his club football debut for West Ham United in 1999 and played for them until 2004 and made 93 Premier League matches and scored 29 goals.
In 2004 north London side Tottenham Hotspur signed the player for £6 million and he was quickly drafted into the first team. He scored a total of 43 matches in 139 Premier League appearances for Spurs.

In January 2008 Defoe was signed by Portsmouth and in 11 Premiership matches for scored 8 goals in the 2007-2008 season. He stayed on at Pompey for the 2008-09, adding 14 more goals to his tally.
Defoe’s impressive performances for Portsmouth saw Tottenham make an offer to sign him back in 2009. Since then the England international has established himself as a key player in Spurs’s ambition to make themselves a top-four club in the Premier League, scoring over 50 competitive goals.
Defoe made his international debut for England in 2004 and has played 53 times for his nation, scoring 19 goals in the process.
